PRESSPLAY 7

2020–2021

As deputy project manager, I worked with the project manager in the conceptualisation of the theme for the annual arts festival under the National Libeary Board. This included monitoring the COVID-19 pandemic and pivoting the festival as a wholly-online festival and identifying programmes which could be adapted successfully for the festival. I also provided guidance to the team in charge of marketing for the procurement and liaising with a design agency for the booklet, and contributed to minor design adaptations such as creating holding slides for Zoom sessions from the key visual.

I engaged notable artists to the festival under new programme tracks, such as the Singapore Community Radio for a live podcast session. I also invited Sonny Liew and Calvin Chua to critique for Portfolio Review sessions which I had suggested to be added to the festival to engage aspiring artists at an intermediate level. For the Portfolio Review sessions, I managed the submissions of portfolios and liaised with the artists on the proposed mechanism.

Procurement scope:

  • Invitation of artists for programmes (Honorarium) – I restructured the reference honorarium paper to include differing categories of artists for the podcast, portfolio reviews, and live band performances.
