We the Citizens
We the Citizens is a project that a friend, Meng, recently started in an effort to find the good in the little things that make a Singaporean. Having been rediscovering my love of home, it was a no-brainer when Meng invited my participation in this interesting project. Jesca lived in the area, and I was glad that she was keen to support this too.

My take on how fortunate I am to be held to the same expectations as my brother. Singapore is not perfect, and gender inequality persists just as it does worldwide, but I’m grateful for the culture that shaped my parents’ ideologies into consciously choosing to hold my brother and I on the same plane.

Jesca’s take was about our multicultural society’s effect on Singlish, a creole language we hold dear as part of our identity. She also posed next to two rojak stores! Pretty é…· sia :D
And then it was my turn to take some pictures and videos while we explored the playground at my favourite neighbourhood park :D
SEE-SAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW awww yeah. That’s me, Meng, and Jesca from left to right.

Best. Bowl. Ever.
Of course I couldn’t pass up a chance to take outfit photos! I had a simple pink and white colour scheme going on, with spots of orange, and a whole lot of dots- The Uniqlo bratop is made up of tiny flowers, the Forever 21 chiffon top of multicoloured dots, and Zara skirt of tiny white hearts. My neon Sketchers sneakers looks quite pristine in here, and that’s because it is- I’m guilty of exercising way less than I should to live healthily. Meng took quite a few outfit photos for me at first, but I was so awkward when he was behind the camera that I didn’t use any. Sorry Meng! Thank you though. ^^;
This cool graphic purse was a free gift from Sephora. Ade gave it to me, her not being one to fall for such kitschy designs unlike yours truly. :P
Thanks to both Jesca and Meng for coming over and for understanding my need to stay back to take some outfit shots alone! You guys are the best. TwT
If anyone is interested in participating in We the Citizens, feel free to contact Meng at the facebook page! He’s pretty cool to hang out with. :)
