Joburg
The city of Johannesburg, or Joburg for short, was a mere one-evening stopover for Ottie and me. We had originally allocated 3 days for this city, but booked a safari for ourselves when we were in Cape Town – which was such a last-minute thing that securing the best option for a safari was a feat for the Cape Town agency who had to work around our flights in and out of Joburg. Note to self: allocate at least 4 days and 3 nights for a safari, not the 3 days and 2 nights which we did.
Anyway, we stayed at the Premier Hotel O.R. Tambo for the night, as it was close to the airport and we were planning to catch a morning flight out to the wildlife reserve the next day. We felt too lazy to venture out into town and instead choosing to attack the buffet for dinner, but not before taking some photos of my aeroplane outfit:
Last view of Table Mountain. Farewell, beautiful Cape Town and friends!
Our room was halfway made when we arrived (the bed was stripped and the toilet was the only part of the room which seemed done). It was a little weird, but housekeeping stepped up. I’ve always been interested in how they do these things anyway.
Caught the setting sun!
