FEATURED OUTFITS

5 Seconds of Fame on Chictopia

Two of my outfits featured on the front page of Chictopia.

Hey guys! I seldom play host to recognition or any semblance to the notion of fame (primarily because I’m lazy and slightly self-sabotaging), but I’m excited to boast that two of my recent outfits are on the front page of Chictopia!

I doubt I’ve ever had so many people see my outfit photos before, much less vote for them. If any of you are reading this, THANK YOU! And also thanks to Deb who was game enough to indulge in my hobby as my photographer for Outfit #1 in San Gabriel and Outfit #2 in Balloona Creek.

For the curious, I am on both Chictopia and on Lookbook. Say hi! Or add me, you know, because.

What Do I Live For?

A while ago, I had the pleasure of being interviewed by Desmond of Imprfct, for What do I live for?, in which he poses five deceivingly simple questions to some pretty awesome people, and I’m honoured to be among them in the archives. Thanks Desmond! XD

I recently heard a reading of John Gray and Immortality, and was struck by it.

The paradox is that it is only because we die, that we can understand the value of immortality.

And that is why I live.

My perspective on existentialism here.

On perhaps a nod to the frailty of life and the hardiness of the human skull, here’s the rest of the photo that was in there, plus commentary on recent body modifications due to general stupidity on my part (it’s the stupid stuff that inevitably amuses though):

Yep, my hair is long. Even my housemate of nine months exclaimed in surprise at my hair one night, and asked if I had gotten extensions.

Nope, my hair just grows like the wild. ^^;

ARTY FARTY FEATURED FRIENDS OUTFITS

A Whole Day of Comics

We went to visit Lix and 冒冷汗 because it so happened that we were bored in town and Singapore’s first ever 24 hour comics event (organised by OIC) was on that day, so why not kaypoh a bit and give support?

Our dress theme was pink, and Lix happened to wear pink too! So we got the lonely grey-clad 冒冷汗 to take photos for us. :P

Tintin, Me, Shasha, and Lix. Photos taken by 冒冷汗.

I loved the dramatic lighting! Sneakshot of Sonny and someone else at the venue.

Here have the FB convo accompanying the above picture:

✿ Pink seamstress shirt: gift (Shanghai)
✿ Turquoise printed skirt: Far East Plaza
✿ Purple leggings: gift (London)
✿ Brown mary janes: gift (Trendyzone)

Speaking of OIC, I’ve just found out that I got featured in the OIC blog about the portrait drawing that I went to in June! *speechless*

Here is the link.

That was the first time I went to the OIC monthly portrait drawing sessions, and I remember being very intimidated by the insanely talented people, and very stressed out because we only had 20 minutes to sketch each person. After each session, we would hang our pieces up behind, and if the sitter liked it, they would purchase each drawing for $10. For some reason I sold two… o_O

I haven’t been there since, mainly because the atmosphere there was so intense that it scared me. Someday though! Or perhaps I’d simply resume my leisurely MRT/cafe sketchings. I miss that.
