I finally got the chance to take an outfit picture at The Tube! It’s been sort of a personal quest for a while now. Ade and Puey were kind enough to humour me one day because they are awesome friends. ♡
I broke out my Juicy Couture Candy Pop Wild Cheetah Jacquard Skirt from Shopbop, which was a whole lot more neon than I expected from the picture on the website- the sheer intensity of neon took me aback when I finally got my package. It was just as well however, since I’ve been keeping an eye out for token neon pieces for a while now, but never really felt the urge (or courage) to actually commit to any one piece. It’s a happy accident in the end.
To counter the potentially overpowering neon, I mixed bright (but not that bright) shades of green and blue. I’ve always been fond of RGB combinations, and I suppose that the notion of fighting fire with fire did come to mind. I also took the chance to mix some patterns in there since the sweater was striped and my backpack populated by super kawaii animals. What’s the harm in tossing in another patterned item in the form of aztec prints from Sammy Icon? None, none I say.
We had lunch at House at Dempsey, where Ade and Puey threw a surprise birthday celebration ten days before my birthday. It was so early that I dismissed the idea of a possible birthday celebration when the two of them acted weird prior to our meet-up. Turned out that I should have trusted my instincts; they were planning something sneaky. XD
Squid Ink Crusted Skinny Pizza and Old-fashioned American Sliders which came with a mixture of sweet potato and truffle fries. BOTH WERE SO YUMMY. I also couldn’t help but order a pot of White Gingerlily because I’m a tea fanatic.
They got a super yummy and fluffy cake from Paris Baguette, which was supposedly made with Earl Grey tea (Ade must have remembered my recent penchant for Earl Grey), but that taste didn’t surface at all. Still, the cake was incredibly addictive.
My birthday was three days ago now, on September 2nd, but I think I’ll still have a couple more posts about it in store. I feel very touched to have so many well-wishes and friends like Ade and Puey who make it a point to celebrate something I wouldn’t normally bother with beyond a small get-together meal for yet another trip around the sun. In other words, thank you. ♥
