Textured Brass Cuff & Tan Lines
Due to a turn of events over the past weekend, I had the dubious honour of getting a last-minute seat at a free Fat Anvil Studios workshop at the library. It was my first time metalsmithing, which proved quite therapeutic, what with channeling all my repressed rage and so on into the creation of aesthetically-pleasing dents by way of hammering the brass rod each participant was given.
Got myself a Pepero stick after hammering in all those dents!
Done! I used a mix of two hammers to create my texture.
This was
my Instagram post it referred to.
Here’s the outfit I wore to make some custom accessories:
It’s been more than two weeks since I last got sunburnt in Australia – the burn can still be seen on my back. I thought that that was the worst of it, until last week Ottie discovered a dusting of unexplained, extraordinarily large dandruff while peering down at me. Turned out that the flakes littering the top of my head were dead, burnt scalp moulting off my head. I FUCKING GOT SCALP BURNT. GROSS. Good news was that the problem surfaced for only two days. From now on it’s wide-brimmed hats for me.
Also, I actually detest tan lines – not on other people and especially not on myself. One day I’ll find the time to compile a list of irrational pet peeves. The problem with these ticks is that my shoddy memory needs a visual jog in order for me to remember how much I hate them. I guess I have that going for me – blissful ignorance until triggered. 😂
