It’s been a while! I was contacted by Little Flower Hut who offered me a chance to review their Teddy Bear Bouquet selection recently. Needless to say, I jumped at the opportunity since a teddy bear bouquet sounds like something different and interesting, and totally sets it apart from the a standard floral bouquet. I was given four teddy bear options to choose from:
I chose Mr. Crush because I found it cute that the little red hearts at his feet matched the red flower heart in his hands. I also had plans to take some photos with a red dress that I’d acquired some time back but never had the chance to wear. And so I waited for the appointed delivery date to receive Mr. Crush – well, Ottie was the one who received it since I had work, but I’d given him instructions on what to do upon Mr. Crush’s arrival:
Mr. Crush was 30cm high and heftier than I expected for a floral bouquet. I found out later when I deconstructed him that he was made out of a bear-shaped floral foam with numerous short stalks of Chrysanthemum blooms pressed into it. Can you imagine the amount of water the foam would have absorbed just to keep the flowers fresh for days? No wonder he was so heavy!
I took Mr. Crush out to my latest favourite photo place in the neighbourhood for a date. I’d like to emphasize once again that carrying a very heavy Mr. Crush for the photos was no easy task – I really need to exercise more.
For what it’s worth, Mr. Crush is a pretty impressive floral bouquet to gift to someone for a special occasion. He comes in a large kraft paper bag, so there’s no need to worry about transporting him home if he’s to be delivered somewhere outside. He even made a great centrepiece for the kitchen table for about a week before he fell into my deconstructing schemes!
Mr. Crush retails at $229.90 for the 30cm version, and $1,151.80 for a spectacular 1-metre version. I’d really like to see a 1-metre tall teddy bear bouquet it sounds amazing.
The next few photos are of my kitties Teh & Kopi, which have more or less dominated my Instagram stories. In January, Ottie and I adopted these motherless month-old siblings that an animal advocate colleague had saved from a construction site. It’s still hard to believe that I have cats now – I’d kept various kinds of animals when I was a kid (mice, terrapins, roosters, dogs), but never cats because to quote my mum, “they’re so sneaky”. They’ve definitely made my peaceful home a lot messier (and stinkier), but the trade-off is well worth it. I love these derpy little beasties.
