    Tokyo-bound

    Aaah we were going to miss these Manneken waffles so much that we bought a bunch for our Shinkansen ride to Tokyo! So much yums. Just to even things out, I also fell asleep and missed the sight of mount Fuji godammit. Anyway, we spent our last three days in Tokyo, which remains one of my favourite cities to visit. First stop, Akiba! Did you know that Akihabara (秋葉原), while famous as an otaku haven, is so named for its autumn leaves? Pretty obvious if you know kanji, but just thought I’d put it out there.     Sagano Romantic Train, Hozugawa River, Arashiyama

    This was a day of romantic sights in Kyoto – our morning was spent aboard the Sagano Romantic Train (also known as the Sagano Torroko Rail among other variations), excitedly standing up from our wooden seats just to get a better glimpse of the fiery red and orange momiji as the train rumbled past. It was mid-December already, so we were actually quite surprised to find that the autumn leaves had yet to depart for the year. Some pictures: Tickets for three!     Gripe Haul: May 2016

    I tend to portray a more sanitised version of myself on my blog and when I’m outside. It’s funny how I spent so many years of my life honing my ability to compartmentalise, and now I’m trying to tear these walls down bit by bit because… I don’t even know why.
