    Batam Day 4: Sunken Pool Bar

    This was our last day at Batam. It was sad for our little getaway to end so soon, but at the same time the hustle and bustle of the city was calling to this city girl heart of mine. We had requested for a late checkout at Harris Waterfront Resort for an additional 200,000 IDR (SGD 20) when we first arrived, expecting our lazy bums to rouse past noon on the last day, same as always. We visited the sunken pool bar one last time, snagging it for ourselves since most hotel guests had presumably already left in the morning.     Batam Day 2: Lounging by the Pool

    Day 2 of our resort island getaway was a decadent one, to say the least. We didn’t leave Harris Waterfront Resort at all, choosing instead to head to the cafe for lunch, play a few rounds of table tennis, before seeking the pool and lazing there till the sun set. It would have driven me mad if I hadn’t already planned for it – I’ve never been very good at wasting time on vacation. Since we were more or less spending the day by the pool, it made sense that my swimsuit was my outfit of the day. Why bring an extra set of clothes when it’s only going to get chlorinated water…
