MUJI Sensitive Skincare Workshop
The skies have been providing a reprieve from the sweltering heat we’ve been suffering lately. I spent one such day with Jody at the Japan Creative Center a few days ago. I’ve made posts about this place dating back to 2010 on Angel Dreams and Manga & Anime! Japan. Has it really been six years?! Time flies by so fast.
Anyway, I was very lucky to be able to score seats for the both of us after registering for the MUJI Sensitive Skincare Workshop. Yay! I’ve been a fan of minimalistic MUJI stationery and lifestyle products, but have never mustered the courage to try out their skincare and makeup. This was the perfect opportunity to learn more about it.
We started off with an introduction to the Light Toning Water, which comes in three variants – Light, Moisture, and Heavy Moisture. I personally preferred the Light, since Singapore’s humidity more or less does the job of moisturising my face already. The array here also features the versatility of its bottle heads, which can be bought separately to accommodate one’s regime. Also, did you know that the products contain mineral water coming from the mountains of Kamaishi City? Cool. We even got to drink from the bottle of water during the workshop!
We placed a small cylindrical cotton piece in a bottle cap and drenched it both ways with the Light Toning Water. It turned out to be a face mask!
Among other items introduced were the Face Soap. Miyao-san demonstrated how to create some really firm and bouncy foam through the use of a washing net. It was the first time I saw foam that didn’t drop to the floor when held upside down! I’m very tempted to get a washing net to experience the magic for myself.
All in One Essence for the lazy people like me.
Goodie bag! It’s so considerate for MUJI to provide a travel bag in addition to the travel-sized bottles of products we learnt about. Am going to make full use of them on my upcoming short trip. It was a last-minute thing, but I’m really excited about it! :)
Thank you JCC and MUJI for hosting this programme, and for Jody who was my date this rainy Saturday! ♥
