La Marelle
I first heard about La Marelle when Evy gifted me with a pretty bow necklace for my birthday. Imagine my surprise when I found out that there was a La Marelle Café & Boutique in Singapore! I brought it up when Alala and I were deciding on a place for lunch one day, and she agreed that it would be interesting to visit. Of course, I couldn’t go without wearing my necklace from La Marelle. :P
The café, situated at 25A Baghdad Street, is such a colourful and quirky find in Singapore. This is one place that, despite the proliferation of pink in its decor, actually looks good and non-threatening to me; it’s definitely on my inspiration list. I’ll just let the pictures do the talking:
My croissant! Alala and I were amazed by how crispy the bread was, just the way I like it. The plate it was served in is also a design by La Marelle.
My Hazelnut Hot Chocolate was delish, and I absolutely loved the toppings on it.
After our pleasant meal, we took a walk in the surrounding area, which naturally led to Haji Lane and its murals:
And then Alala took me for a walk down Victoria Street to see the beautiful mural, Girl and the Lion Cub, by Ernest Zacharevic:
It was a pretty colourful day. :)
