Heat Wave in Haji Lane
Ottie and I dropped by Haji Lane one day to check out what’s new – Haji Lane is one of those hipster places I occasionally visit for their colourful murals, independent boutiques, and noms. I’ve been there more than I’ve posted about it, but here are those that made the blog in 2010, 2013, and 2014. Incidentally, this part of the world has plunged into a heat wave recently, with temperatures consistently hitting 34°C (93°F) in Singapore. What better way to document my cool getup than to stand in stark contrast with burning hot colours on a new mural.
Probably could have done without my shimmery tights considering the heat, but I’ve always been weak against shiny objects.
I’d also like to point out that the loose braids I sported were a day old! My hair was braided the day before and I didn’t bother to release them when I went to sleep. It was a surprise to find that they still retained their shape when I woke up, so I decided to reward their tenacity by going out as-is.
We originally wanted to grab a bite at LongPlay after researching on dining options in the area, but overlooked the fact that most of these places open later in the day to cater to the night crowd. Oh well, time to take more photos:
If you’ve been following me on Snapchat 👻Â PUPURENÂ 👻, you might have seen additional shots of our trip to Haji Lane. Ottie and I are such derps, and the heat totally wasn’t helping. 😂

Gah, sorry for the late reply! The trick is lots of hiding in the shady and air-conditioned boutiques! And also an incredible abundance of fashion-bravado. XD
