Fast & Fashionable: Sky Grande Prix at Empire
Formula 1 is back in Singapore this weekend, and while I’m not exactly keen on deafening myself at the stands, I’m always up for a fashion party. Last night, Ottie and I attended the Fast & Fashionable party thanks to an invite from Clozette. I took the opportunity to commit the leggings-as-pants faux pas I’ve been wont to do ever since I got this pair of PU leggings from Dressgal. Shiny black leatherette just screams fast & furious! I’d have worn a different crop top to accompany it, but most of my clothes are still in the laundry basket waiting to be washed since Ottie and I came back from our trip last weekend. Anyway, these pair of crazy tigers do portray the furious pretty well, don’t they?
The party was held at Empire, a bar located on the 45th floor of the Singapore Land Tower. It offered a pretty view of the night skyline in downtown Singapore, despite the onset of our annual hazy episodes thanks to the deliberate burning of forests in Indonesia – let’s just say that heavy rainfalls over the past few days have been pretty convenient.
Our complimentary drinks only covered vodka, so Ottie got himself two glasses of gin & tonic for the price of one (SGD $13) thanks to happy hour. Yep, we’re still reeling over the prices of alcohol over here ever since South Africa.
Ottie and I slipped out for a quick bite since the fashion show by Vanilla Luxury wouldn’t start until 11.30pm. As usual with his predictable appetite, we settled for hummus at Kazbar after wandering the central business district bars in the nighttime:
Hummus, Pita, Falafel. Pretty yummy.
We met up with Jody and her friend/stylist Gen and managed to somehow snag front row seats to the fashion show! The collection drew inspiration from the flapper styles of the 1920s, while the accessories brought a modern touch. The white collection had some of the best body chains -Â want.
The black collection was more daring, but their awesome accessories stole my attention as well. Those fascinators!!! J’adore.
This headpiece deserved a second look.
Our favourite look featured some glorious wings on a deep neckline dress. This model worked it.
It was a good Thursday fashion fix.
