Batam Day 2: Lounging by the Pool
Day 2 of our resort island getaway was a decadent one, to say the least. We didn’t leave Harris Waterfront Resort at all, choosing instead to head to the cafe for lunch, play a few rounds of table tennis, before seeking the pool and lazing there till the sun set. It would have driven me mad if I hadn’t already planned for it – I’ve never been very good at wasting time on vacation.
Since we were more or less spending the day by the pool, it made sense that my swimsuit was my outfit of the day. Why bring an extra set of clothes when it’s only going to get chlorinated water on it?
Playing at the rain pool. It was pretty cool that the resort had one! Water fell down along the perimeter of this little lounging pool.
We wound up settling down at a little island in the middle of the pool (which ran as deep as 2 meters). The island was connected by a cute little bridge. Given the non-peak period, we had all the space for ourselves. Lucky!
Even the resident tortoise was sunbathing.
Yea I couldn’t not do nothing in the end. Drew some mermaids for this DressLink blog post.
We requested for more slices of those scrumptious bread for dinner. They even gave us an entire bowl of olive oil for us to dip them in!
Their wood-fired thin crust pizza was still the best we’ve had.
We stumbled upon a family of cats while strolling about the compound after a satisfying dinner. They were so cute! Some were a little skittish, but a couple of adventurous kitties came forward to have themselves petted.
Here, have a gif of me sneezing.

Thank you Susan! Aah, I hope you do one day! It’s got pretty views and good food. Although, if you only have to pick one place, the general concensus is that Bali has nicer waters and partying. :)
