I was part of a fairytale festival for work earlier last month, where various professional storytellers got together and told stories from all over the world to the public for free. One of the storytellers was as young as seven years old! She had the largest following I’d seen, the audience filling up the room until even I couldn’t fit inside. Most of them were probably supporters and their parents from her school? But still, that was pretty epic.
I quickly did my hair up with a newfound golden clip from Mustafa, bought to replace the previous ones which died (they lasted a good while considering I got them in the USA more than two years ago). Utility was key in my outfit, as I didn’t know I busy I would be – pockets were therefore essential for all the little knick knacks I might have to carry around while leaving my hands free. This midi skirt from Lowry’s Farm was a pretty great buy – skirts with pockets are awesome.
It also wouldn’t entirely be appropriate if I didn’t incorporate some happy elements into my outfit for the festival! I went with my favourite matryoshka earrings, a gift from Everlind some time back – matryoshkas are some of my favourite things, and nesting dolls kinda fit to the theme of stories, don’t they?
Matryoshka earrings and my iLuv earphones. Outfit photos are rarely taken before going to work, as I tend to maximise the amount of time I sleep, but this was too cute an outfit to resist snapping a few quick shots while I wolfed down my omelette toast for breakfast. Also, Ottie just so happened to be awake to act as my Instagram husbando, as it were. :P
My house printed socks from Dresslink also made their first appearance here! How cute are these prints?! These cuties actually belonged to the men’s section, but socks are socks, and I’m (un)fortunate enough to belong to a size which gives me the ability to straddle both categories – US 9 for women’s and US 7 for men’s. Some of my favourite footwear have been taken from the menswear section, in fact. Thinking about it makes me miss shopping at Ross.
