I’ve been listening to the archives of StarTalk Radio recently, a radio podcast hosted by famed astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson about all things science. It’s all very entertaining, and occasionally makes me wish that I had the mindset and tenacity to be in awe of the perplexities of matter instead of drifting off into the fantastical universe. I remember how often Pa tried to tether me by forcing non-fiction books into my childhood readings, while Mum tried to sell me contemporary fiction in hopes that it would lead me down the road to reality, but their efforts never really took off; I was a goner ever since I discovered the existence of mermaids and talking animals and time travel.
Not that they actually exist. Well perhaps time travel. In the future.
Or now. You never know.
Meanwhile, I’ll float on by as I always have.
I’m back at my favourite soot-covered place for this self-portrait, a perfect backdrop against my outfit. Greyscale was chosen to show off my brand new pair of Jeffrey Campbell Flamel Open Buckle Booties from Shopbop – accentuating the lovely wine of the leather. It’s a colour I’ve been lusting after for a while now. It’s just so pretty! I love how Shopbop stocks some of my favourite brands, and one of the best things about it is the free express international shipping. I’ve mentioned it before, but still can’t get over the fact that I’d get my items just three days after placing my order on the US-based luxury shopping website. Much indulgence, so fast, very happy.
